Workshops & Yoga days
DEC 30 2019
Post Christmas Workshops 29th & 30th Dec 2019
The last workshop I ran was together with Marion Sinclair at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of South London on 29th and 30th Dec 2019 from 11 am till 4:30 pm.
On the first day a selected sequence of poses were aimed at removing the sluggishness caused by overindulgence due to overeating and drinking and lack of physical exercise.
Abdominal work was also done with supine poses, toning the legs, some twists and inversions.
The second day was aimed at reinvigorating and energizing the body and mind with some standing poses, more twists and culminating with the back bends, which generate lots of energy and open the heart chakra.
A good omen for entering the New Year with a good connection with the heart and its affairs : honesty, love, compassion, understanding and friendliness.
On both days a light vegetarian meal was served and pupils and teachers had a moment to socialize .
The second half of each day comprised some restorative poses suitable for after a meal and preparation for Pranayama. Here pupils are drawn further inwardly via the different techniques of breath control in a very gentle and aware manner.
It is an opportunity for conscious introspection, through absolute attentiveness to breath awareness, reconnecting to our inner space, calmness and stabilizing the emotions.
We had a great attendance on both days which will encourage us to offer more of this kind of workshops.
Stay tuned in this space for the next workshops via my social media.
